From the 2005-2006 Season:
I can honestly say I have never heard the Chorale perform with such flawlessness, especially on the unaccompanied pieces. The sound of the group has its own distinctive color, texture, balance and blend which shows true clarity of voice (no individualism – but everyone working within the ensemble to create a superb sound that is truly unique!) I thought the program was energetic, wonderfully romantic, fun, and enjoyable, The “Italian Theme” was a magnificent touch! Bravo!
Just wonderful, I am amazed at the professional development and growth of the ensemble in recent years. A true compliment to you, and the singers.
As I told you on Sunday...what a fabulous concert, so varied, something for everyone, BUT my favorite was the Men's tune.......wonderful blend, balance and resonance. I had moist eyes. Must have been a little dust or SOMETHING!
I want to add that the men also were GREATLY affected as well. It was a moment that is rare when DIRECTOR, singers and listeners are emotionally together and everything around them is suddenly non existent. YOU caused that moment and it was wonderful.
As a former member of the ensemble it is clear to me the direction the group has taken in the last decade. Definitely on the same par as the Kansas City Chorale, Elmer Isler Singers and Dale Warland’s Group! Norman would have been very pleased!
Just got back & wanted to tell you both what a beautiful time we had at the reception and meeting all the wonderful people you have down there.
The Chorale was fantastic! It was a pleasure playing with them! I really did enjoy it. It was good seeing Dave & Al Horsky and others who I had not seen for years. Don't forget that dinner at Scali's. Thanks again for all your support and for asking me to play.
…the sound was splendid. You have always assembled a good group of musicians, but this group seems even stronger than the last time I heard the Chorale. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I am sorry that we had to run out last night before you were finished, and I regret even more not having heard more of your group's performances through the years. The Lancaster Chorale, with your interesting programming and the purity of the vocal sound, is one of central Ohio's treasures.
There's only one word for Sunday's performance: Boffo!
No hyperbole--it was a genuine thrill…God bless...and thanks for a wonderfully memorable experience.
