GENERAL INFORMATION
Candidates should bring a prepared piece in any style of their choosing; an accompanist is provided. During the twelve-minute appointment, singers will vocalize to show range/color, and also be asked to demonstrate the ability to sing with and without vibrato. Remaining time is spent on pitch recognition & retention, brief checks of rhythm, and vowel colors. Sight-reading is minimal (hymn) and there is no requirement to demonstrate language abilities, as coaches are provided during rehearsal of more esoteric languages.
ADDITIONAL INSIGHTS
Candidates are encouraged to visit Chorale’s website (www.lancasterchorale.com) and download musical samples to familiarize themselves with the sound of the group in various styles and genres.
Chorale sings a three-concert subscription series, supplemented this season by three performances with Columbus Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra, at the Southern Theatre, and at Pontifical College Josephinum.
All positions are paid, for rehearsal, performance and travel.
